This is a song I wrote when I got back home after missing a train to perform at an open mic night and cussing all the way home! Haha. A eureka moment. But it's also a response to young people desiring more excitement in life through travel and venturing towards cities when I just escaped from one of them and now have an aversion to all big towns as a result of that unfortunate experience.
In actual fact, the music for the verses is borrowed from a song I wrote in 1995 called 'Over.'
This is a song that I occasionally sing while hiking alone here in Yorkshire. It's ironic that, of all my new songs, only this one and Dance of the Dead got recorded, despite my frantic attempts to get them all down. As now I have sustained an injury to my throat and I'm unable to even sing the new material others, at least for the foreseeable future. Needless to say, I can no longer sing the choruses of this song for now. So fingers crossed!

lyrics
Sweetness by Antraeus Voltage
There are no winners or losers in this life
There is only love; the rest is an illusion
There is nowhere to go and nothing to do
There is only sweetness so wherever you are just play
Nothing’s so important; nothing matters so much
No competition; you may be down on your luck
But after the dust of illusion has settled
Peace will come when joy gives a fuck
So relax and feel the sweetness within
If you move to the city, your soul will sigh
If you travel the world, don’t forget to say goodbye
Western minds rarely see the wood for the trees
Excess in thought, insufficient feeling
The way we’ve learned to see life is upside down
In truth, it’s what’s on the inside that counts
So just feel this tenderness inside
Your shining star is right where you are
Deep down inside your own heart
Only sweetness, so, whoever you think you are, just say
There is only love; the rest is bullshit (and you know it)
Only sweetness is real
Only sweetness is real
Only sweetness…
